There are several ways how to reduce the cost of commercial software:
Multi-users access to expensive platform or application. The MS Windows
Remote Desktop can be helpful to use common software on one computer for
all clients. When you use Diskles Terminal you
need just one computer with OS such as MS Windows server f.e.
Combine commercial and free platforms in your network structure. The most
of regular servers such as Router, File Server, Web server etc. can be moved
from MS Windows to free UNIX/Linux platform (come back to original place) with minimal casualty.
Use free software on commercial OS. Example: When you use
Postgres SQL server on MS Windows platform it is not just free. All data
tables will be ready for migration to another platform (UNIX/Linux) any time.
